Located in Central Visayas region and considered 10th largest island in the Philippines, Bohol, with Tagbilaran City as its capital, is one of the best tourist destination to see.

HOW TO GET THERE

You could ride a plane and land at the Tagbilaran airport through Philippine Airlines’ as well as Cebu Pacific Airbus A319s; Or go with fastcraft ferry trips from Cebu City which would take you only about 2 hours to arrive in Tagbilaran City Wharf.

As for our case, we took the Weesam boat ride. We were on the first class seat then for a much better accommodation.

Upon arrival to the port, there are vans and cars for rent who could take you to a tour and pay for a cheap price.

BOHOL TOP TOURIST DESTINATIONS

FUN&ADVENTURE

If you’re in for adventure, try the Cable Car and Zipline ride overlooking the Loboc river.

This is only a few minutes ride and you’ll get hyped. You can avail a CD of your photos at a very low price as your souvenir.

 

ON THE ROAD

Known as the Man Made Forest, a 2 kilometer stretch of Mahogany trees will caught your attention while on your way to your next destination. Oh! You can consider it as your destination too!

THE FAMOUS

The specific spot which cannot be missed to see in Bohol is its about 1,200++ hills spread over an area of 50 square kilometers. It is considered as the country’s third National Geological Monument and known as the Chocolate Hills.

During dry season, the green hills dry up turning to chocolate brown which seemingly transforms into chocolate kisses.

A wishing well is also located on top of the viewing area.

Take a number of steps to see the whole location of the chocolate hills for a better view.

 

THE SHIP HOUSE

For it’s unique structure, this house is now as well one of the tourist spots in Bohol. Inspiringly imitated from a ship vessel, this known SHIPHAUS is proudly owned by Capt Gaudencio Dumapias, a native of Batuan who became a successful mariner.

Inside the ShipHaus you will find captain’s cabin, chiefmate’s cabin, kitchen, mess hall and others. The workers are all dressed in sailor’s uniform. There is a roof deck that resembles the front of the ship from which you can imagine looking into the endless ocean while taking some refreshments.

THE BRIDGE

Made from bamboos and hardened steels, the HANGING BRIDGE is initially used to cross over the river going to a town in Bohol. It’s a back and forth bridge and on one side, you could stop for awhile and have some souvenirs.

FOODTRIP CRUISE

So which place can still take you on a tour while you’re having lunch? Indeed Bohol offers the best. Take the cruise with famous filipino cuisines while journeying through the Loboc River known as the Floating Restaurant.yu

THE TARSIER

With eyes like an owl, tail like a rat, hands and feet like a monkey and jumps like a frog; this endangered specie is highly seen in the rainforests of Bohol.

You can come and visit the conservation area of tarsiers in Loboc, Bohol to personally see the well-known little monkey, the tarsiers.

HISTORY

Blood Compact, known as Sandugo in filipino term was performed in this site, between the Spanish explorer Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Datu Sikatuna, the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565, to seal their friendship as part of the tribal tradition. This is considered as the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos. “Sandugo” is a Visayan word which means “one blood”.

FAITH

The Baclayon Church

he Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. It is one of the best presevered Jesuit build churches in the region, although in the 19th century, the Augustinian Recollects added a modern facade and a number of stone buildings that now surround the church.

Want real and intense adventure?

In the Southern part of Mindanao lives 7 falls naturally preserved and continually being cared and nurtured by the T’boli men. Located in Lake Sebu, you can come, hike or simply zip and view 7 falls!

The zipline is considered highest in Southeast Asia. You would have to Zip twice starting from Falls #2 and return through falls #2. You have then the option to either take more than 700 stairs or may ride a motorcycle going back to the main.

You can also enjoy trampoline for a very low price.

You would enjoy the view, the food, fresh air and you can also take a boat ride around the Lake.
